Landscape and trail were a winter wonderland with footprints of one early bird. Thanks to this guy, we found our way through the upper parts of the trail relatively easy. A snow cover of about 30cm made the path invisible, very few times even knee deep.
Consider your outfit and gear in such conditions. On the way back the lower part of the trail was getting muddy due to increased traffic. This hike was such a pleasant surprise! The view from top is beautiful. It was snowing when I did the trail. Hiking shoes and poles are recommended.

With the weather today it was snowy, slushy, muddy, windy and icy. Hiking poles and good footwear are a must! This was a challenging hike if you go all the way to the end. Very easy beginning and light scramble at the end. A little snow and crumbling slate so if you want to go to the actual highest peak a walking stick could be good. The bulk of the walk was very nice, meandering through forest- a good slow burn hike with steadily increasing difficulty. Very pleasant view. Not lot of people and kind of a hidden gem hike! Go for it :. We did this trail today and it was amazing!! The views are incredible!
We walked to all three viewpoints and did it in just under three hours. I would do this again. The glacier was really fascinating. The mountains here are so pretty : Added bonus, the washrooms were very clean and tidy.

The upper section of the trail is often wet and easily damaged in early summer- travel not recommended- but by mid-July, you can usually count on a colorful display of mountain wildflowers. Important: stay on the trail, so you don't damage the fragile tundra. Follow the Path of the Glacier Trail to the end of the paved portion, turning hard left soon after onto the route to the meadows.
Where the trail follows the edge of the bouldery moraine, watch for little gray pikas and chipmunk-like golden-mantled ground squirrels among the rocks.
