More than Oklahoma Family, Career and Community Leaders of America students and advisers attended the 70th annual National Leadership Conference this summer in San Antonio, Texas, where they spent time networking, learning and competing. In addition to meeting other FCCLA members, Oklahoma students competed against more than 4, students from across the country in 33 Students Taking Action with Recognition events.
On June 11, , FCCLA celebrated its 75th anniversary and legacy of making a difference in families, careers, and communities across America. Today, more than ten million students have been involved in FCCLA and have changed countless lives around the country by participating in National Programs, competing in Competitive Events, exploring Career Pathways, and attending national conferences.
FCCLA continues to be the only Career and Technical Student Organization focused on preparing youth for careers that support families and strengthens members employability skills by preparing students to be college-and career-ready.

It prepares leaders by empowering youth to address the real-life situations and issues that interest and concern them. Engaged in meaningful, student-directed projects, FCCLA members develop skills for life through character development, creative and critical thinking, interpersonal communication, practical knowledge, and career preparation.
In the process, they learn cooperation, take responsibility, develop leadership, and give service. FCCLA National Programs FCCLA has eight national programs, which help youth to: Make a positive difference for themselves, their families and communities; Learn skills like communication, leadership, cooperation and sharing, coping with challenges, and taking responsibility for decisions and choices; Identify concerns, set goals, plan, act, and follow up; Use their enthusiasm, explore new ideas, and show that they care; Leadership Model good character Solve problems Foster positive relationships Manage conflict Build teams and involve community Educate peers.
